Tom Joyce is the chief pilot, flight safety manager and DFR led for North Yorkshire Police. North Yorkshire Police have a dedicated team of two police officer DFR pilots, the first of their kind, with plans around the corner to expand the project across the county, no small feat in North Yorkshire, the largest county in the country. North Yorkshire Police have five docks operating above the city of York and Harrogate and are seeing positive results on a daily basis, from chasing robbery suspects to protecting vulnerable people. DFR is paving the way forward for police aviation in North Yorkshire.
