James Tipple is a Detective Chief Inspector in Serious Organised Crime at the Metropolitan Police, involved as the Senior Investigating Officer in complex proactive investigations. In addition to his core role he has been involved in the NPCC Knife Crime Working Group for the past three years, taking up roles as both legislation and data leads. During his time working within knife crime, James has reviewed national knife crime data and presented on the key issues to Ministers, as well as being engaged on the definitions of knives to be prohibited through further legislation.
