Professor David McIlhatton PhD FRSA is Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for National Security and Defence and Professor of Protective Security and Resilience at Coventry University, where he also leads the Protective Security Lab. He has delivered more than £20 million in funded research for government, law enforcement and military partners, specialising in translating emerging science and technology into tested, validated and operationally deployed capabilities. His expertise spans emerging technologies, behavioural biometrics, geospatial science, surveillance, OSINT, extended reality and cyber security. His work has supported a range of major national and international security operations and has informed counter-terrorism policing, military and government operations, and the protection of critical infrastructure, venues and public spaces.
