REVOLUTIONARY NEW ELECTRIC ACESO

INTERNATIONAL AMBULANCES TO LAUNCH A REVOLUTIONARY NEW ELECTRIC ACESO AMBULANCE AT THE ESS SHOW IN SEPTEMBER
Based upon our original Aceso diesel / bio fuel powered ambulance, our new fully electric ambulance is a game changer.
The inherent problem with battery powered vehicles is the extra weight and recharging time of the batteries. When these are added to a traditional converted ambulance it puts the gross vehicle weight of the vehicle over the current 3.5 ton limit. This results in the group “B” licence paramedic driver having to take and pass a new driving test to qualify for a C1 license. This is not only time consuming but an extra cost of around £1000 for the test. Multiply this by the number of ambulances and paramedics in the UK alone at it’s a huge problem.
Our revolutionary new Patented design over comes this issue. As our vehicle has a double rear axle, we have modified the chassis so that from the rear axle back this section of the chassis is detachable and becomes a separate trailer, leaving the electric Aceso as a 4 wheel ambulance. One third of the total 1800 compact lithium ion batteries are stored in this trailer, the other 1200 batteries are located low down in the main ambulance chassis. With the trailer detached our vehicle is under the 3.5 ton limit.
The trailer and chassis are specially shaped to allow a powered ram to pull the trailer in so it locks into the main vehicle chassis. The disengage / engage process is fully automatic and takes minutes to complete once the tailgate is opened. Once the trailer is attached, the ambulance weight can be 4.25 tonnes and the paramedic is legally entitled to drive the fully loaded vehicle under current regulations without the need for C1 license.
The other big advantage of this detachable trailer concept is the range of the ambulance. A traditional current electric ambulance has a range of circa 100 – 120 miles in perfect conditions before needing a full recharge which is measured in hours. The electric Aceso ambulance has a full range of possibly thousands of miles if the trailer is replaced before there is any need to use the ambulance battery supply. The ambulance recharging/ braking system, firstly recharges any electricity used by the central heating / AC, instruments, screens and computers etc, then recharges the trailer batteries. After several visits to the hospital the paramedic simply swaps over the depleted battery trailer for a new fully charged one in minutes and is ready to go in minutes.
Each Ambulance Authority would have a “Trailer Station” with a number of trailers charged ready, so the electric Aceso would be fully operational at all times with no need for lengthy periods of downtime waiting for the batteries to recharge.
Together with the already ground breaking features of the original ambulance the new fully electric Aceso is a true game changer bringing the latest in technology, patient care and efficiencies to the Ambulance Authorities around the globe.
