NextGen Ri will be exhibiting at the Emergency Tech Show 2025, presenting their latest range of robot dog solutions for fire and rescue, policing, and search and rescue operations.

Specialising in retailing and developing these systems, the company works directly with emergency services to adapt and configure them for real operational demands.

Built to withstand hazardous conditions and equipped with advanced sensors, these robots can be deployed into environments too dangerous or inaccessible for people, streaming back vital intelligence in real time and providing practical support to emergency teams.

How they can help:

In fire and rescue scenarios, they can enter dangerous areas, transmit live data, help locate trapped individuals, and support fire suppression efforts.

For policing, they can assist with surveillance, reconnaissance, evidence gathering, the search of locations, and locating suspects, all while reducing risk to officers.

In search and rescue, their mobility and advanced sensors make them well-suited to covering difficult terrain and locating people quickly.

For example, in a major road tunnel collision involving a hazardous goods vehicle, fire crews, police, and specialist rescue teams could deploy a robot dog ahead of personnel. It could enter the smoke-filled environment to assess fire spread, detect chemical leaks, locate casualties, and relay live video to all agencies at the scene,  enabling faster, coordinated decision-making while keeping responders out of immediate danger.

“Our goal is to give first responders tools that make their jobs safer, faster, and more effective,” says James Brown, Managing Director of NextGen Ri. “A robot dog can take on the tasks that put people in harm’s way, go places that are too risky or hard to reach, and work tirelessly for as long as the situation demands. That means crews can focus on making decisions and saving lives, knowing they have reliable backup on the ground.”

Visitors to the Emergency Tech Show will be able to see the robot dogs in action and explore how they can support a variety of emergency operations. The NextGen Ri team will be on hand throughout the event to give demonstrations, answer questions, and discuss how the technology can be integrated into existing response strategies, and how it may help shape new ways of responding in the future.
