Innovative Mass Casualty Software and Victim Registration
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BPREPARED Unveils Innovative Mass Casualty Software at the Emergency Services Show in Birmingham
Birmingham, UK 04-09, 2023 - BPREPARED, an international software company based in Belgium, is proud to showcase its ground-breaking mass casualty software, designed to optimize victim registration, for the first time in the UK at the Emergency Services Show in Birmingham. This software, developed in collaboration with the Belgian Ministry of Health, represents a paradigm shift in how first responders and other personnel handle victims during and after mass casualty incidents.
In the wake of the tragic attacks on Zaventem and the Brussels metro, which resulted in numerous victims and stranded passengers, the Belgian government recognized the pressing need for a more digital approach to emergency response. BPREPARED’s software provides digital triage, registration, and tracking of victims, enabling real-time data sharing and highly automated communication between the incident area, reception centres, contact centres, and hospitals. This cutting-edge technology significantly enhances communication speed, facilitates decision-making based on real time data, and optimizes patient flow, ultimately saving lives.
Tammo van Leeuwen, Partner at BPREPARED, stated, “With over 6,000 EMS workers already connected to our apps and software in Belgium, we are excited to introduce our comprehensive solution to the international audience at the Emergency Services Show. We firmly believe that traditional paper-based lists and spreadsheets are outdated for handling victims during and after mass casualty incidents. Our software places people at the centre, including victims, their relatives, and the first responders, offering enhanced functionality and efficiency.”
In addition to tools for EMS workers, the software also includes a self-registration module to assist individuals leaving the incident scene in connecting with authorities for various forms of aftercare.
Over the past three years, BPREPARED has collaborated closely with the Belgian Ministry of Health to develop the software, subjecting it to rigorous testing for a year before it became Belgium’s national mass casualty software. This solution comprises modular software components addressing both medical and psychosocial aspects, ensuring a holistic approach to managing mass casualty incidents.
BPREPARED is already involved in test projects in two additional countries and has initiated international communication to bring this innovative solution to other nations. The company welcomes all interested parties to visit their booth at Hall 5, K172 during the Emergency Services Show in Birmingham to experience the future of mass casualty handling.
