SARMAN, a search management software solution, has its origins back in 2009 when it was developed in conjunction with Mountain Rescue England & Wales (MREW), to deliver a ‘first-of-its-kind’ windows-based solution to aid efficiency in initiating, planning and managing a missing person search.  It first rolled out in 2010 with MREW and soon attracted further users in Lowland Rescue, Cave Rescue, Search and Rescue Dogs.  Subsequently, it was adopted by Police Forces and the Ministry of Defence, and expanded its usage into event management, crime and counter terrorism, and asset tracking.  It developed from a pure windows-based solution into mobile android and iOS combined platforms and has been used on some of the largest searches in the UK.

In 2020, the vision was to develop a fully integrated solution for web, windows and mobile platforms, maintaining the ethos of a solution that could be used on the ‘bonnet of a car’ in remote areas, or in a control room or vehicle allowing full backup and failover in case of communication failure.  

After extensive development, the first beta versions were tested by teams in the rescue services in 2022, and the collaboration and input from these users assisted in delivering the full product in early 2023 to a limited number of users to ensure system integrity between all platforms.  At user request, further variants were developed specifically for Police and Coastguard operations during this period.

Years of development by the 3S Group team has truly paid off as the expanded functionality provides proven results. Today, the system is in use by selective users in Search Teams, Police and the Coastguard in the UK, having already been used successfully to protect and save lives, and is rapidly being acknowledged as the most comprehensive solution available in the market. 3S Group are proud to be launching Sarman Enterprise Suite at the 2023 Emergency Services Show to a wider audience.

The SARMAN Enterprise Suite delivers a first-of-its-kind search management solution with online, offline and failover modes in Windows, web and iOS platforms. The incident sharing function allows multi-agency collaboration on live incidents with dynamic updates, enabling search managers to coordinate complex multi-party operations.

With an online knowledge base, featuring modular AI video tutorials and tests providing an efficient and flexible user training experience, SARMAN Enterprise is a comprehensive solution to the varied aspects of search management from missing person to crime.  Further enhancements are underway with an Android version, a drone interface and enhanced tracking modules being developed.
